Caris Islington is a registered charity which runs two projects in Islington - a Bereavement Counselling Service for children and adults, and a cold weather night shelter for homeless people in Islington.

If you are a counsellor or counsellor in training and would like to volunteer with our service to counsel children and young people, please call us: 020 7281 5200. We are currently recruiting. Last interviews 31st October. Next training for our C&YP volunteers starts 14th November.
Annual Lecture: Grief works
Facilitated by Julia Samuel, Author of “Grief works”
Julia Samuel is a psychotherapist specialising in grief, who has spent the last twenty-five years working with bereaved families. She has worked at St Mary’s Hospital Paddington where she pioneered the role of maternity and paediatric psychotherapist. Twenty five years ago, Julia has helped launch and establish Child Bereavement UK of which she continues to support actively as Founder Patron. As the results of her services to bereaved children, she was awarded an MBE in 2015. Julia is the Vice President of the BACP and an Honorary Doctor of Middlesex University.

We work with bereaved people and homeless in Islington, North London. For homeless people we provide a cold weather night shelter. For bereaved people we provide bereavement counselling for adults, children and young people.
