Welcome to the CARIS Islington Website
Closure of CARIS Islington
CARIS Islington has been facing financial difficulties and it is with a very heavy heart that the Board of Trustees has taken the extremely difficult decision to wind CARIS operations down. We are very sorry that this hugely important and valued service is having to close and we thank the community of Islington for its support throughout the last 25 years. If you have any questions please contact Nick Hopkins (Chair of Trustees) nickh@carisislington.org who can answer any questions.
For other organisations who work with bereavement and the homeless please see the links on the Bereavement Service and Night Shelter pages of this website.

Our Vision
Caris Islington
"Our vision is of a community service open to all in Islington affected by bereavement"
We provide bereavement counselling for adults, children and young people.
You can find more information about our service on this website. You can also go to our download section for our latest Annual Report and other information about CARIS Islington.
Volunteers
Further information is on the Volunteering page.
Although CARIS has its roots in local Christian churches, we cannot stress enough that our counselling is not faith based. People are welcome as clients, employees and volunteers from all backgrounds and all faiths or none. Part of our training has always been to ensure that people of faith set aside their beliefs during counselling sessions so that they can keep their attention on their clients with open hearts and minds.
