Caris Islington is a registered charity which runs two projects in Islington:
Bereavement Counselling Service for children and adults
Cold weather night shelter for homeless people in Islington
BEREAVEMENT SERVICE - WAITING LIST & REFERRALS UPDATE
Our waiting list for bereavement counselling for our adult service and children & young people's service is re-opening on 15th August and we are now open to receiving referrals.
LOSS & TRAUMA PROJECT UPDATE
The Loss and Trauma project is open for referrals for those who have been affected by any loss related to Covid 19 (for example job, income, isolation) who would like to access counselling. Although we are hoping to get more funding for the Loss & Trauma service, the current funding is ending in November. Therefore from the end of July we will only able to offer 8 sessions and from the end of August we might have to stop taking referrals as we will not have enough weeks to offer a meaningful amount of sessions. However If we receive funding to extend the project we will return to offering 12 sessions.
CARIS staff are all working remotely so counselling sessions are being done by phone or video. Phone calls to 020 7281 5200 are picked up by Liz, our administrator and voicemails are forwarded to her by email. If you want to speak to a specific person please text or email them. For general information or referrals please fill out our contact form.
